XR

Following the success of the Virtual and Augmented Reality category at previous SIGGRAPH Asia conferences, and in particular, the newly established XR program last year, the SIGGRAPH Asia 2021 XR Program will be showcasing the latest research and development results in XR.

This includes state-of-the-art solutions for interactive technologies, immersive installations, storytelling, new approaches for creative expression, novel displays, and collaboration within VR, AR, and MR Environments.

We will have an exciting, invited presentation by our XR featured Speaker, Prof. Dr. Otmar Hilliges. Otmar is currently leading the Advance Interactive Technologies Lab at ETH Zurich, where his main goal is to push the boundaries of what humas can do with computers and how they interact with them. He is interested in machine perception of human activity, including pose estimation, gesture recognition and other forms of input sensing.

XR video presentations will be available on the platform on-demand from 6 December onwards, so attendees can watch it from the comfort of their own homes, at their own pace. This will also allow them to formulate questions and discussion topics, which will be addressed during the Q&A sessions which will take place from 14 – 17 December.
